News is brewing on Twitter this afternoon, per Shams Charania, and The Vertical that Cleveland and Boston are active in trade talks involving their two point guards. The rumored deal would be sending Kyrie Irving to Boston in exchange for Isaiah Thomas and would be expected to include Jae Crowder, Charania's tweet explained.
It makes sense, however be unprecedented, that the two best teams in the Eastern Conference would be involved in a player swap of this caliber, as it solves a number of both teams' problems. Both Thomas and Irving are due for contract extensions and would most likely sign for the long-term if traded to a high-caliber team as these two are.
