First of all, 48 Minutes would like to thank the powers that be for giving us media access to our (newly NCAA Division 1) hometown, Northern Kentucky University Norse. We're very excited to start covering a team that made their first NCAA Tournament last season in their first year of eligibility. There's certainly a level of enthusiasm this season building off of last year's success. With all that being said, lets get on to the good stuff!

NKU pummeled EKU last night 91-63. During a contest that honored former NKU elite at halftime (including former coach Ken Shields), the Norse put on a show, outscoring the Colonels by 20 points in the 2nd half.

Building off of an 8 point lead at halftime, the Norse went on a 10-1 run and never looked back. NKU big men Drew McDonald and Carson Williams continued to bully the ball inside the paint the entire contest with little to no resistance from EKU to combine for 43 points. Carson Williams was nearly perfect from the field shooting a very clean 9-10 while adding 6 rebounds and 5 steals. With this game under his belt, Williams currently has the 12th best FG% in the country.

McDonald also played an excellent game putting up a game high 23 points, 9 rebounds along with 2 blocks.

With this game, NKU has now won 3 of their last 5 and improves to 7-3 for the season. The Norse next travels to UMBC on Sunday, Dec. 17. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. in Baltimore, Maryland.
