Going into tonight's game both NKU and Wright St University were 4-0 and tied for first place in the Horizon League. But thanks in large to a great performance by Wright St. guard Grant Benzinger, the Wright St Raiders handed NKU their first loss in conference play and also their first loss at BB&T Arena since January 20th of 2017.
In what was an extremely entertaining game that went back and forth the whole game, the two best teams in the Horizon League battled like a 12 round Heavyweight Title fight until the very end. The Wright St Raiders saw Grant Benzinger score 31 points shooting 8/13 from the field including 4/7 from 3 point range. Wright St also got a big lift from forward Loudon Love with 17 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes played.
NKU had 4 players play 30 minutes plus tonight and were lead by Drew McDonald's 18 point and 10 rebound performance. Guard LaVone Holland added 22 points of his own to keep the Norse fighting.
