Coming off a tough loss Friday night vs Oakland, the Norse had a quick turnaround when they faced the Detroit Titans and pulled off a huge victory.
The game got off to a very slow start where both teams were missing a lot of shots but defense was very solid from both teams. After a slow start from both teams the Norse then went on a big 13-0 run with 4:32 to go in the first half to break the game open and were in the drivers seat from there. Detroit shot just 18.2% from the field which is the first time NKU held a team under 20% shooting in a half since February of 2015 against Lipscomb.
Carson Williams lead all scorers with 13 points while teammate Drew McDonald scored 12 points and had 13 rebounds to record his 10th double-double of the season. The Norse also saw Mason Faulkner and Tyler Sharpe step up and play extra minutes while senior guard Lavone Holland only played 15 minutes due to a tendinitis issue. The Norse are now 15-7 overall with an 8-2 record in conference play.
Listen here where you can get the Post game Press conference from Drew McDonald, Jalen Tate and Tyler Sharpe as well as Head Coach John Brannen recap the big win before the Norse hit the road for their next two games.
Norse will play next on Thursday at Youngstown St at 7PM on ESPN3
