Xavier Victorious over Spanish All-Stars 80-53

The first game in Xavier's Pre season tour gave the Musketeer faithful a lot to be excited about for the 2019-20 season with a win that saw contributions from everyone on the court.

Xavier got off to a fast start leading 14-5 halfway through the first quarter that included 3 point baskets from Naji Marshall and Dahmir Bishop. The Musketeers showed their plans of using their speed very quickly and were certainly impressive ending the first quarter with a 25-12 lead.

The second quarter was a little slowe as the Spanish All-stars made a little run giving Xavier just a two point advantage in the quarter leading to a half time score of 41-26, but from there Xavier took over the game and didn't look back.

Jason Carter and Zach Freemantle really flexed their muscles in this quarter showing the depth this team will have to go along with Tyrique Jones for big men. Carter finished the game with 10 points and eight rebounds while Freemantle finished with eight points and 6 rebounds. Tyrique Jones and Dieonte Miles also had performances to go along with their fell front court players with Jones putting up a stat line of 12 points and nine rebounds while Miles ended the game with nine points and four rebounds.

Xavier had a 20-8 third quarter performance to eliminate any chance of the Spain All-star team even fighting to make the game competitive when they followed that third quarter with a 19-7 4th as well.

Naji Marshall continued his very exciting off season with 16 points and seven assists leading the team in both categories. Xavier also saw big contributions from all the newcomers including Kyky Tandy, Bryce Moore and Dahmir Bishop each leaving their mark on the teams performance..

Xavier will next play Monday at 12 PM EST where the team will play the final two games of the overseas tour in Madrid.
