Dantez Walton's Hot Streak Stays Alive as Norse Defeat Colonels 76-57.

Another Norse Basketball game, another great Dantez Walton performance. Walton tied for the team lead in scoring with Trevon Faulkner scoring 18 points. Walton also had nine rebounds in the game as well.

Bryson Langdon: Today Bryson was very aggressive running the offense. During the game Eastern Kentucky ran a full court press all game and Langdon had to push the pace. Langdon had 14 points shooting 5/6 from the field, 2/2 from the free throw line and 2/3 from the three point line. While Jalen Tate has been injured Bryson has had to be the lead ball handler for the Norse and has excelled in his role.

Free Throws: Throughout the season Northern Kentucky has really struggled from the free throw line but tonight the Norse as a team were 12/15 from the line. "I think it helps in a game like this when a team presses for 40 minutes part of your goal is just to not always necessarily turn the ball over, just to take a team out of rhythm. Then you get to the foul line, right? Then if you miss those then 'oh man now we're not making free throws either so I think especially against a team that presses like EKU does to be able to knock down the free throws we got earlier in the game I thought it settled us down a little bit and it was a positive for sure."

Defense: The Norse have played suffocating defense over the last three games. Their defensive style of play is something Darrin Horn described as a "Nuance" type of defense. "It's not a zone, it's not a man it's just a way of playing defense. There's a lot of things that can change from game to game or even from possession to possession. I think for our players it's starting to stick for them. Between Arkansas, Miami (OH) and EKU the NKU defense has held teams teams to an average of 59 points and just 37% from the field.

Up next for the Norse: A Sunday Matinee against Southern Illinois next Sunday, the 17th at BB&T Arena.
