While people were watching the Cincinnati Bengals get destroyed by the New England Patriots, Northern Kentucky kept their hot shooting alive in an impressive victory over Southern Illinois 79-64.

The Norse were lead by Tyler Sharpe's career high 30 points. A game Sharpe described as a "slump buster" after rough stretch of games where shots weren't falling. Sharpe shot 10/17 from the field and 5/8 from the arch leading the way for the Norse to their eighth victory of the season.

Dantez Walton also had a great game with a career high seven assists to go along with his 19 points and six rebounds to keep his impressive performance through the season alive. Walton shot 7/10 and 3/6 from three point land.

Northern Kentucky's Matchup zone defense continued to be a huge part of their success for the season holding Illinois State to just 36% from three. Illinois State came into the game shooting 39% from 3 point land as a team through the season with five of their players shooting 35% or better individually through the year.

NKU is now 8-3 on the season and have just one more non-conference game on the season when they play UNC-Greensboro of the southern conference. UNC Greensboro is also 8-3 before their game tomorrow against the College of Charleston. NKU will tip against Greensboro next Saturday at 7:00 PM EST.
