After losing 3 of the last 4, the Bearcats took on the visiting Wichita State Shockers on Thursday night at Fifth Third Arena. Cincinnati started out red hot from the 3 point line hitting their first 7-8 three pointers. They went on a 9-0 run and one point lead by 21 points. However, lead by Dexter Dennis, the Shockers went on a 12-0 run and cut the lead to 42-35 at the end of the half.
At the beginning of the second half, the Shockers were able to cut the lead to 3 however, Cincinnati put their foot on the gas and didn't look back. The hot three point shooting continued for the majority of the game and they finished the game 11-19. Every small run that the Shockers made, the Bearcats quickly regrouped and poured on the points.
David Dejulius lead all scorers with 17 points, and 6 assists. Mika Adams-Woods added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. John Newman III had an impressive game as well scoring 13 points (5-6 FG) and chipped in 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Ricky Council IV lead Wichita State with 17 points and tacked on 4 points.
The Bearcats look to avenge their Jan 25th loss to Temple (14-9) when they welcome them back to Fifth Third Arena this Sunday 2/20/22 at 2:00 p.m. You can catch the game on ESPN 2.
