Cold Spring-- Northern Kentucky's chase to return to the NCAA Big Dance lives on with a home victory over Oakland at Truist Arena.
NKU was led tonight by junior guard Marques Warrick who scored 22 points, including going 5/7 from deep. While Warrick had another huge night, the Norse also got contributions from Sam Vinson with 12 points and senior Trevon Faulkner with twelve points of his own.
The Norse were decent-sized favorites in the game but Oakland didn't go down without a fight. The Golden Grizzlies were led by Jalen Moore and Trey Townsend each scoring 19 for their team, and also saw Keaton Hervey give them 15 points of his own.
The Norse shot the ball very well most of the game shooting 45% from the perimeter to give them the upper hand offensively, something they will lean on more and more as their season goes on.
The Norse await the winner of the Youngstown St and Detroit Mercy game to find out who they will play next. That game will take place Monday night.
