The Bulls Waive Goran Dragic

by Neil Meyer

The Chicago Bulls announced today that they have waived veteran point guard Goran Dragic, in order to make a roster spot available for newly acquired Patrick Beverly. not played since the All-star break due to a knee injury,Beverly who started the season with the Los Angeles Lakers was traded the Orlando Magic along with a second-round pick in exchange for Mo Bamba just ahead of the NBA Trade deadline. Beverly would agree to a contract buyout just a few days later that would make him a free agent, where he would end up back in his hometown as a member of the Chicago Bulls. However, the Bulls had to cut a guard in order to keep Beverly on the roster and it just happened to be Dragic in this scenario. Dragic, is now a free agent and eligible to sign with any team. Dragic, just like last season will look to find a new home late in the season in hopes of joining a contender looking to make a late season playoff push. Dragic appeared in 51 games for the Bulls this season where he averaged just six points on the season. This move shouldn't be surprising at all for Bulls fans, as the Bulls just added Terry Taylor, who was picked up from the Indiana Pacers a couple weeks ago. The Bulls backcourt was just loaded with the emergence of Ayo Dusunmo alongside Zach Lavine, DeMar Derozan and Alex Caruso,

What's next for Dragic is uncertain, but now the NBA Veteran will have a couple of options on the tables, especially from teams looking to make a playoff push here in the final month of the regular season. We will keep an eye on Dragic's next stop of his playing career, come the next few days.
